This bridge connects the US states of San Francisco, and California to each other. This bridge is also known for its unique color and its capacity.
Golden Gate Bridge History
The history of this bridge is linked to the Bay of San Francisco. This area was previously surrounded by water, due to which a ferry service started here in the early 1820s.
In 1867 the Sausalito Land and Ferry Company service became the largest ferry company in the world by the late 1920s. Who provided this facility to the water areas, but people were not getting much benefit from this service because they had to pay a dollar every time for this service, which took more of their time and money. To get rid of this problem, people sought help from the government, after which this bridge was started to be built on 5 January 1933 and on 27 May 1937 it was opened to the public.

- It took Four years (1933–1937) to build this bridge, which aimed to create jobs by overcoming the economic downturn in the US state of San Francisco.
- It was the longest hanging bridge in the world until 1964, but now it comes in second place. Its total length is 2.7 km, total height is 227.4 m and width is 27.4 m.
- It also connects San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean, which is 4200 feet in length.
- The structure of this bridge has been designed in such a way that it can withstand earthquakes of up to 8 Richter scale intensity and 841 km. Can withstand stormy winds for hours.
- The construction of the bridge cost about $27 million, which was a huge amount at the time.
- Kevin Briggs, who worked as a policeman on this bridge, has so far prevented about 200 people from committing suicide.
