Ramoji Film City Overview
Ramoji Film City is an entertainment venue located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located on the Nalgonda road, about 25 km from Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The film city is home to a wide array of attractions covered over a land of around 2000 acres. It is known as the best thematic holiday destination in India.
Ramoji Film City History
Ramoji Film City was established in the year 1996 by Baron Ramoji Rao. Who is a renowned media entrepreneur, businessman and film producer in India. He wanted the city to provide facilities to produce Hollywood as well as Bollywood films. More than 2000 acres of land was purchased for this purpose and a renowned art director, Nitish Roy was tasked to design the entire complex.
Ramoji Film City Interesting Facts
- Film City founder Ramoji Rao was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian award, in 2016.
- Film City has been recognized as the largest studio complex in the world and has been certified by Guinness World Records as the largest studio complex in the world.
- It is estimated that more than 2500 films have been shot in Film City. Some of the blockbusters shot here include Chennai Express, Krrish, Baahubali and Dirty Picture.
- It has more than 500 set locations. And there are hundreds of gardens, close to fifty studio floors, authorized sets, outdoor locations, digital film production facilities, high-tech equipped laboratories, Technical support.
- The film infrastructure also includes arrangements for make-up, set-making, Costume design, Location, Finished furnishings, Cameras, film production equipment, Audio production, Digital post production and film processing.
- The special thing in Ramoji Film City is that twenty foreign films and forty country films can be made simultaneously here. And not only domestic, but foreign filmmakers also come here.
