Pratibha Devi Singh Patil is the first woman President to reach the highest position in the country in the 70-year history of independent India. She was sworn in as the first woman President of India on 25 July 2007. His term ended on July 25, 2012.

Pratibha Patil was born on 19 December 1934 in a village called Nandgaon in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. His full name is Pratibha Devisingh Patil. His father's name was Shri Narayanrao Patilat. He has one brother and one sister, his brother's name is GN Patil.
She is started early education in R. R. school in Jalgaon, and later obtained a master's degree in political science and economics from Moolji Jetha College, Jalgaon (then under Poona University), and then a bachelor's degree from Government Law College, Bombay (now Mumbai University). Patil then began practicing law in the Jalgaon District Court, while also taking interest in social issues such as improving the conditions faced by Indian women.

Many people have described Patil's political career as "lengthy and to a large extent less important" before assuming the presidency. But here we are telling you all the important events related to them. In the year 1962, at the age of 27, she was elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the Jalgaon constituency. She then won the assembly on four consecutive occasions between 1967 and 1985 in Mukteinagar (formerly Allahabad) constituency, before becoming an MP in the Rajya Sabha between 1985 and 1990. Elections were held for the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991, representing Amravati constituency and elected as Member of Parliament. Pratibha Patil handled various cabinet departments during her term in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, as well as holding official positions in both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.

In addition, she served as the Chairperson of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee for some years and served as a director of the National Federation of Urban Co-operative Banks and Credit Societies and as a member of the Governing Council of the National Cooperative Society. On 8 November 2004, she was appointed as the 24th Governor of Rajasthan, the first woman to hold that position, Patil was announced as a candidate for the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) on 14 June 2007. She emerged as a compromise candidate after the Left parties of the coalition. She was also the Chairman, Rajya Sabha from 18 November 1986 to 5 November 1988. She was also the Chairman and Member of the Profit Committee, Business Advisory Committee, Rajya Sabha from 1986 to 88. Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, President of State Congress Committee, Maharashtra (1988-1990), Director of National Urban Co-operative Banks and Credit Institutions, has been a member of the Governing Council of National Cooperative Union of India. She became the head of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress in 1989–1990. He was elected to the Tenth Lok Sabha (lower house of Parliament) in the year 1991 and also served as the Speaker, House Committee, Lok Sabha in 1991. Smt Patil was appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan on 8 November 204. He resigned as Governor on 22 June 2007 for election to the post of President of India.
