Rohini Khadilkar, who earned her name in the world of chess, was born in Mumbai (India) on 1 April 1963. She was born in a middle family. His father used to sell newspapers.

Rohini Khadilkar became the national women's chess champion in 1976 at the age of just 13 and was the first female player to win the championship in three consecutive years. He won the title on five occasions. In 1981, when the competition was held in Hyderabad, Rohini also became the Asian women's chess champion. She was unbeatable in that competition and scored 11.5 out of a possible 12 points. The same year, she became Woman International Master and in November 1983, she again won the Asian Women's title, when the competition was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Khadilkar, who became the first woman to compete in the Indian Men's Championship in 1976, was appealed against her in the High Court due to her participation in a men's competition. And after which the World Chess Federation President Max Uwe made the rule that women cannot be barred from national and international championships. He won three state champions in the competition - Gaurang Mehta of Gujarat, Abdul Jabbar of Maharashtra, and A.B. of West Bengal. K. Defeated Ghosh. In 1977, Rohini won the Chhatrapati Award for outstanding performance in chess. Subsequently, he was awarded the Arjuna Award, India's highest honor in sports. She has also been declared as Maharashtra Kanya for chess feats.
