Sania Mirza is one of the top tennis players in India. From 2003 to 2013, for a decade in a row, she managed to retain her position as the top Indian tennis player in the singles and double of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). She became the first woman player to win a Grand Slam for India in 2009. The athlete, who became known globally at the age of 18, was awarded the "Padma Shri" in 2006.
