The founder of the city of Agra is Sultan Ibrahim Lodi. The city is famous for its history, cultural heritage and amazing historical sites including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
Udayin founded the city of Pataliputra in the 5th century. Pataliputra is now known as Patna which is the capital of Bihar. Udayin was the ruler who first established Pataliputra as the capital of Magadha.
The city of Calcutta (now Kolkata) was founded by Job Charnock, an English merchant and administrator of the British East India Company. The establishment of Charnock marked the beginning of British presence and settlement in the region.
The establishment of the city of Puhar is attributed to the Chola ruler Karikala Chola in the 1st century BCE. He is credited with establishing and developing Puhar as an important port city and the capital of the Chola Empire.
The city of Dhillika (Delhi) was founded by King Anangpal of the Tomar dynasty. Anangpal founded Delhi in 736 AD and built a fort called Lal Kot (Red Fort) here. Dhillika Nagar was taken forward by his son Hemchandra and he did the work of expanding and structuring the city during his reign.
