The year 1994 was declared by the United States of America as the International Year of Families or Global Family Day. International Family Day is celebrated every year on 15 May to show the importance of family among people all over the world. Since 1995, this cycle continues every year. Various programs are organized all over the world on 15th May to explain the importance of family. The emblem chosen for this day has a heart and house inscribed in the center of a green circle. It is clear from this that the center of any society is the family. Family brings comfort to people of all ages.
World Family Day Objective
The Purpose of celebrating 'International Family Day' is to raise awareness on such issues which are related to family. On this day people take a pledge to adopt healthy and good habits for their family, leaving their harmful habits like smoking etc.
There are two types of families – one is a nuclear family and the other is a joint family. Parents and children live in a nuclear family, whereas in a joint family, parents and children along with grandparents and other family members like uncle, aunt, aunt etc. all live together.

Who is the Family called?
The family is the smallest unit in the human world or else the family is the smallest unit in this society as well. It is the fundamental unit of social organization which teaches us to live in harmony and build cooperative and cordial relations with each other. Every human being is or has been a member of some family.
His existence cannot be imagined apart from the family. Accepting so many changes, our culture and civilization can refine itself, but the existence of the family institution did not come under any threat. They may have been made and broken by becoming, but their existence cannot be denied.
His appearance has changed and his values have changed but his existence cannot be questioned. No matter how much modern ideology we are growing in, but in the end, we feel satisfaction only in converting our relationship with the institution of marriage into family.
