What are Human Rights?
Every human being has the right to life, liberty, equality and dignity - "Human Rights". The 'Constitution of India' not only guarantees this right, but the court punishes those who break it. The Human Rights Act came into force in India on 28 September 1993. On October 12, 1993, the government constituted the 'National Human Rights Commission'.
The scope of the commission covers civil and political as well as economic, social and cultural rights, such as child labour, HIV/AIDS, health, food, child marriage, women's rights, custodial and encounter deaths, minorities and scheduled castes. and tribal rights etc.
The main theme of the 'World Human Rights Declaration' is related to the basic demands of human beings related to education, health, employment, housing, culture, food and entertainment. Many regions of the world suffer from poverty, which is the biggest obstacle to the achievement of basic human rights for a large number of people.
How is Human Rights Day celebrated?
This day is celebrated by organizing political conferences, meetings, exhibitions, cultural programs, debates and many more events to discuss all the issues of human rights. Many government civil and non-governmental organizations actively participate in human rights programs.
Many programs are organized with the aim of educating people, children as well as youth about their human rights. Some protest activities are organized to make people aware of areas where human rights are unrecognized and degraded.
