National Doctor Day History
The need to underline the importance of doctors was felt by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, a resident of Georgia, USA. Due to his efforts, for the First time on March 30, 1930, 'Doctor's Day' was celebrated in America.
The spirit of telling the importance of Doctors in daily life was the main reason behind celebrating this day. The date of March 30 was chosen for this, because it was on this day in Georgia that Dr. Crawford W. Long used anesthesia for the first time for the operation.
