National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year on the 14th of December across the country. The Energy Conservation Act in India was enacted by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in the year 2001. How is National Energy Conservation Day celebrated?

In order to make the national energy conservation campaign more effective and special all over India, many energy conservation competitions are organized among the people by the government and other organizations. Various painting competitions are organized at school, state, regional or national level on Energy Conservation Day by the students or members of organizations at many places. The students who participated and won the competition are felicitated by the Ministry of Power in the program of National Energy Conservation Day on 14th December.

Energy Conservation Measures:

  • Everyone can save energy by keeping in mind the unnecessary use of fans, lights, heaters or other electrical appliances used in their daily lives. This is the easiest and most efficient way to save the extra uses of energy, by which a big role can be played towards the National Energy Conservation Campaign.
  • Fossil fuels, crude oil, coal and natural gas etc. are generating enough energy for use in daily life but their demand is increasing day by day, causing fear of depletion or exhaustion of natural resources in future. has gone. Therefore, keeping in mind the energy conservation, we should use renewable energy resources instead of non-renewable resources of energy.
  • In many countries, an energy tax or carbon tax has been imposed by the government there to make energy conservation effective. This tax imposed on high consumption of energy has reduced the use of energy as well as increased awareness among the users about the limited use of energy.
  • The Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) was established in the year 1977 by the Government of India to promote energy conservation in the daily lives of the people. This is a big step taken by the Government of India in the direction of energy conservation. Apart from this, another government organization called Bureau of Energy Efficiency was established by the Government of India in the year 2001 for better energy efficiency and conservation.
  • Electricity energy can be saved by stopping the wastage of water by using a timer to supply water to water tanks in homes.
  • Energy can be saved in homes by using LED bulbs in place of 100 watt bulbs or CFLs.
  • We always have ISI. (ISI) marked electrical equipment must be used.
  • Social events like marriage and religious events should be done in the day time as much as possible.
  • Make maximum use of sunlight during the day and use non-essential fans, lights, ACs. Keep the equipment off etc.
  • Photo electric control switch should be used for street lights of residential premises.
  • By using solar cooker instead of electricity for cooking and using solar water heater in place of geyser to heat water, we can become a partner in the national interest by conserving valuable electrical energy.
