Every year on 11th July a great event is celebrated all over the world as World Population Day. It is celebrated all over the world to increase the awareness of the people towards the population issue. It was first started in 1989 by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme. Due to the interests of the people, it was carried forward when the global population reached around 5 billion (billion) on 11 July 1987.
