108th Indian Science Congress

The 108th Annual Session of ISC was held at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, which also celebrated its centenary this year. The major attraction of the Science Congress is the Mega Expo "Pride of India". The exhibition showcased the contributions of Indian science and technology to society and its major achievements, shaping hundreds of new ideas, innovations and products for the scientific world every day. The exhibition showcased government, affiliations, public sector initiatives, academic and R&D agreements, achievements of innovation and enterprise across the country and their potential.

The main theme of this year's ISC is "Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with Women Empowerment". Issues of sustainable development, women empowerment and the role of science and technology in achieving this were discussed during the event. Participating efforts to find ways to provide women equal access to STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education, research opportunities, and economic participation, as well as ways to increase the number of women in top echelons of teaching, research, and industry discussed and deliberated upon.

  • The technical session of the 108th Indian Science Congress was divided into 14 sections, under which parallel sessions were conducted at different venues in the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Academic Complex of the University.
  • Apart from these 14 sections, one session each of Women's Science Congress, Farmer's Science Congress, Children's Science Congress, Tribal Samagam, Science and Society and Congress of Science Communicators were also organized.
  • The plenary sessions included material on Nobel laureates, eminent researchers from India and abroad, experts and technocrats from various fields.
  • Space, defence, information technology and medical research have been kept in it. Agriculture, Forestry Science, Animal, Veterinary and Fisheries Science, Human and Behavioral Science, Chemical Science, Earth System Science, Engineering Science, Environmental Science, Information and Communication Science and Technology, Material Science, Mathematical Science, Medical Science, It was also shown about the unprecedented and applied research in the field of new zoology, physics and plant science.
