113th Convocation
The 113th convocation of Gurukul Kangri University was held on 30 March 2023 in Uttarakhand. State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Home Minister Amit Shah, the chief guest of the ceremony, awarded 99 graduate students, 100 post graduate students, 56 PhD students and 83 students with gold medals.
Main Points of the New Education Policy
- In the new education policy, emphasis has been laid on imparting primary education in the mother tongue.
- In the new education policy, opportunity has been provided to learn all the subjects.
- In the 113th Convocation of the University, about 1800 students of 8 years were honored with Bachelor's, Master's, PG Diploma, PhD and Gold Medal.
- Students from the year 2014 to the year 2022 were invited to confer degrees at the convocation.
Startup india
Shri Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has created many opportunities for the youth through Startup India. In the year 2016, the number of startups in the country was 724, which has increased to more than 70 thousand in 2022. Out of these, more than 10,000 startups were formed during the Corona period. Before 2016 there were only 4 unicorn startups and today 107 startups have joined the unicorn club in the country.
44% of the total startups are run by women, which shows that women can also contribute a lot to this country. While 50 percent of startups have come from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Shri Shah said that earlier the number of patentees in the country was very less. In the year 2013-14, 3000 patent applications were made, whose number has increased to 1.5 lakh in 2021-22.
