Aero India 2023
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 14th edition of Aero India 2023 at Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru today. Along with this, PM Modi also released a commemorative postage stamp on Aero India 2023. The theme for the 14th edition of Aero India is 'The Runway to a Billion Opportunities'. It aims to promote the rise of a strong and self-reliant 'New India' by showcasing the country's growth in capabilities in the aerospace and defense sector. The exhibition will focus on showcasing indigenous equipment and technologies and partnering with foreign companies in line with the Government's 'Make in India, Make for the World' vision.
The aero show will showcase the country's progress in design leadership, growth in the UAV sector, defense sector and future technologies. In addition, it will also promote exports of indigenous aerial platforms such as Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Tejas, HTT-40, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).
For the first time, two American F-35 fighter jets are participating in the 'Aero India' show. The US contingent also includes F-16 and F-18 fighter aircraft, which have been offered to the Indian armed forces for various requirements. Aero India is truly a showcase of aerospace which has 2 important features - altitude and speed. Aero India's 'Tejas' fighter aircraft, the indigenously developed INS Vikrant and the helicopter factory at Tumakuru are examples of the strength of 'Make in India'.
