International Exhibition-cum-Convention Center (IECC)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Rs 2,700-crore International Exhibition-cum-Convention Center (IECC) complex at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, which will be known as Bharat Mandapam. The opening ceremony was attended by around 3,000 visitors including cabinet ministers, business leaders, celebrities from the film industry and others. During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also released commemorative postage stamps and coins to mark the inauguration of a grand and prestigious complex.
The Bharat Mandapam (IECC) (Integrated Exhibition-cum-Convention Center) has been built as a modern complex as part of the Pragati Maidan redevelopment project. The proposal was first approved by the government in January 2017 at a total cost of Rs 2,254 crore. The project has been developed at a cost of about Rs 2700 crores, with a campus area of about 123 acres. Key features of the new complex include a convention center with a seating capacity of 7,000 and a grand amphitheater for performances, cultural shows and entertainment events, which will have a seating capacity of 3,000.
G-20 meeting
The 2023 G20 New Delhi Summit is the upcoming eighteenth meeting of the Twenty G20 Group, The summit will take place in 2023 at the India Mandapam International Exhibition-Convention Center (IECC), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Bharat Mandapam will boost convention tourism and the world will witness India's rising stature when the newly built venue hosts the G-20 summit.

The architectural design of the Convention Center building is inspired by Indian traditions and reflects India's confidence and firm belief in its past, while embracing modern amenities and lifestyle. Developed in the shape of a conch shell, it incorporates many architectural elements from the traditional art and culture of India. The development of the new campus at Pragati Maidan will help in promoting India as a global business destination.
The complex has a total of seven exhibition halls, each serving as a versatile venue for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs and business events. It will also play an important role in promoting trade and commerce and provide a platform to small and medium enterprises to showcase their products and services at national and international platforms.
