A one-day 'Purple Fest' was organized on 26 February 2024 at Amrit Udyan of Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu enjoyed various cultural presentations organized by persons with disabilities under the 'Purple Fest'.
Purple Fest organized:
It was organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. More than 14000 people participated in this ‘Purple Fest’. After the cultural programs organized on this occasion, the President met the persons with disabilities and interacted with them.
Objective of organizing Purple Fest:
Organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, 'Purple Fest' aims to raise awareness about various types of disabilities and their adverse effects on people's lives and promote understanding, acceptance and inclusion of persons with disabilities within the society.
