9th International Yoga Day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a gene yoga session at the United Nations Headquarters on 21 June 2023, reflecting the 9th International Yoga Day. This historical ceremony was attended by top officials, messengers and prominent persons from all over the world. The ceremony depicted unity with diversity to eliminate contradictions and obstacles through the practice of yoga.
In a video message, Prime Minister Modi insisted on eliminating contradictions, obstacles and resistance through yoga. The Prime Minister urged the world to introduce the spirit of 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat', which is an example to try for global unity from the world.
Yoga Organizing
The yoga session was held on June 21 from 8 am to 9 am in the north loan of the United Nations Headquarters. This is an important place because there is a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, which India gifted to the United Nations during the Headquarters of the Security Council in 2022. The event was attended by top officials, ambassadors, messengers, organizations of member countries and members of the global and migrant community.
The Prime Minister -The Yoga Day celebrations were attended by people representing more than 180 countries, including politicians, artists, academics and politicians. The program has shown universal appeal of yoga around the world and its major priorities.
International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on 21 June. The theme of this year's International Yoga Day was "Yoga for Vasudhiv Kutumbakam" which highlights India's socio-cultural heritage and promotes unity. This day is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and yoga also makes man longevity. On 11 December 2014, 177 members of the United Nations approved the proposal to celebrate 'International Yoga Day' on 21 June. India's proposal was passed by an absolute majority within 90 days, which is the least time to pass the proposed day in the United Nations.
