Bhoomi Samman 2023
President Draupadi Murmu conferred "Bhoomi Samman" 2023 on 18 July 2023 in New Delhi. Team officers from a total of 68 districts, including nine secretaries from Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Tripura and West Bengal, were felicitated at the function, who helped in achieving saturation of the core components of Digital India.
Purpose of Bhoomi Samman
The main objective of the “Bhoomi Samman” scheme is to recognize and encourage outstanding performance in the implementation of DILRMP. The program is instrumental in modernizing land records and registration processes, streamlining administrative procedures and ensuring transparency and efficiency in governance.
Way to Digitization
The Department of Land Resources has set an ambitious target of achieving 100% saturation in digitization of land records in all districts of the country by March 31, 2024.
Districts that successfully achieve 100% targets in key components of DILRMP receive the coveted Platinum grading. This recognition reflects his exceptional performance and commitment to embrace digital transformation and modernization in the land records sector.
Building trust and Partnership
The event is of utmost importance for the state's revenue and registration officials, who will receive "Bhoomi Samman" for the first time in the last 75 years for their outstanding performance. The Bhoomi Samman scheme is a fine example of Centre-State cooperative federalism based on trust and partnership. The grading system is largely based on reports and inputs from States and Union Territories in the core components of computerization and digitization of land records.
