Karnataka Chief Minister 2023
Congress leader Siddaramaiah took oath as the 24th Chief Minister of Karnataka. DK Shivakumar took oath as Deputy CM in the new government of Karnataka. In Karnataka Dr G Parameshwara, KH Muniyappa, KJ George and MB Patil were made cabinet ministers. Satish Jarkiholi, Priyank Kharge (son of Mallikarjun Kharge), Ramalinga Reddy and Zameer Ahmed Khan took oath as Ministers of State. Congress has achieved a significant victory after 34 years of strategy. According to Election Commission figures, the party secured 136 seats, surpassing the short figure of 113, with a substantial vote share.
In the first cabinet, attention has been given to South Karnataka instead of North Karnataka. There are 5 ministers from South Karnataka, while only 3 from North. At the same time, maximum 3 ministers out of 8 are from SC. Congress has done social engineering by making ministers from the rest of the community as well.
5 Promises of Karnataka Government
After this, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM reached the assembly and held a cabinet meeting. The newly appointed Congress government of Karnataka is going to fulfill these 5 election promises in its first cabinet. Siddaramaiah told in the press conference – The cabinet has given the order. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced to fulfill these five announcements which will be implemented within a week.
- 2 thousand per month will be given to the head of the poor family.
- Traffic will be free for women
- Allowance for unemployed for two years – three thousand for graduate, one and a half thousand for diploma
- Ten kg rice will be given free of cost to BPL families
- Up to 200 units will be given free electricity
