My Life App Launch 2023
Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched "Meri Life" (My Life) mobile application on 15 May 2023 to empower youth and encourage their participation in combating climate change.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 'Mission Life' on 20 October 2022 in Kevadia, Gujarat, which focuses on bringing behavioral change in individuals through simple and easy actions. Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said the app will spur a nationwide movement for LiFE, showcasing the power of citizens in saving the environment.
Features of My Life App
The Union Environment Ministry acts as the coordinating authority for implementing Mission LIFE at the national level. It is helping various stakeholders including central ministries, state governments, institutions and private organizations to align their activities with LiFE and raise awareness about sustainable practices.
Meri Life, will conclude with the resolution of LiFE on 5th of next month, which will be celebrated on the occasion of World Environment Day, as well as a massive cleanliness drive in all cities. To facilitate the progress, the Ministry has developed two dedicated portals. The Mission LiFE Portal provides open access to over 100 creatives, videos and knowledge content created by the Ministry for LiFE.
Life related events
Within just 10 days, India has witnessed an impressive number of LiFE related incidents, over 1,00,000, with over 1.7 million individuals actively participating in pro-eco initiatives. These events include a wide range of activities such as cleanliness drives, cycle rallies, tree plantation drives, marathons, plastic collection drives, composting workshops, and fulfillment of LiFE pledges. In addition, schools and colleges are engaging students through cultural competitions involving street plays, essays, paintings and youth parliaments.
