NCC Integrated Software for Cadets launched
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh launched the NCC Integrated Software on 7 July 2023 in New Delhi. This software is designed on entry to exit model which will definitely provide quick access to information related to NCC across the country and will benefit both present and future cadets.
The software is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of once a cadet always a cadet and will digitize the entire process from the stage of enrollment as a cadet in NCC to registration as an alumnus. This will help in seamless issuance of certificates and create a pan India database of NCC cadets at the time of employment.
During the event, NCC and State Bank of India also signed an MoU for opening zero balance accounts of all NCC cadets with debit card, check book and passbook facility. This MOU will benefit about five lakh cadets every year.
This account will remain operative till the completion of training or till he/she attains the age of 18 years, whichever is later. This will not only introduce the cadets to the national banking system but also provide them a ready platform to avail benefits of other government schemes through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) of funds in their accounts. This will replace the existing central procurement and distribution process. Uniform allowance for provision of NCC uniforms will now be transferred to these bank accounts of cadets covering remote parts of the country.
