The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced QR code based paper ticketing for travel on all its routes. With the introduction of this facility, passengers will now be able to use QR code based paper tickets in addition to tokens. For this facility, DMRC has upgraded its Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates and customer care counters to QR based paper tickets. Initially, two AFC gates have been upgraded for entry and exit at all stations for travel by QR based paper tickets.
DMRC said that by the end of this month, it is also targeted to introduce mobile-based QR ticketing, which will make the journey of passengers more seamless and easy, as it will eliminate the need for passengers to buy tickets physically from the counter.
How to use paper ticket
Passengers can take advantage of this facility with the help of their phones. For this, passengers will only have to scan the QR code installed at the metro station and pay the travel charge, after which you will get a paper token. After this, passengers will be able to complete their journey through this paper token. This facility has been started on all the metro lines of Delhi Metro.
Changes made in ticket machine
Changes have also been made in the automatic fare collection gates system and ticket vending machines installed at the stations by the Delhi Metro Administration. Along with this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) also told that soon mobile based QR ticket facility will also be started.
Main uses of paper tokens
With the help of paper token, passengers can easily reach their destination. This QR code based paper token will be valid for 60 minutes. That's why passengers have to complete their journey within this time, otherwise you will have to pay a separate charge for this at the station. With the help of QR code based paper ticket, passengers will not be able to get down at any intermediate station before their destination station. This paper token will not work at intermediate station and AFC gates will also not open.
