On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Rs 24 thousand crore scheme Prime Minister Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) Development Mission from Khunti district of Jharkhand. This mission will benefit 75 PVTGs from 18 states and union territories, living in 22,544 villages in 220 districts, with a population of approximately 28 lakh. These tribes live in scattered, remote and inaccessible settlements, often in forest areas. The Mission plans to saturate PVTG households and settlements with basic amenities such as road and telecom connectivity, electricity, safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, improved access to education, health and nutrition and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
In This Way the Mission Will be Made Successful
The mission will be implemented with 11 interventions from nine ministries. For example, some norms will be relaxed to cover remote settlements under PMGSY, PMGAY, Jal Jeevan Mission etc. Apart from this, saturation will be ensured for schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Sickle Cell Disease Eradication, TB Eradication, 100% vaccination.
15th installment of PM Kisan Yojana Released
During this, PM Modi also released the 15th installment of Rs 18 thousand crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, this amount will go to the accounts of more than eight crore beneficiaries under direct benefit payment.
Multiple Development Projects
The Prime Minister also inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 7200 crore in several sectors like railways, roads, education, coal, petroleum and natural gas. These include four-laning of 52 km long section of Mahagama-Hansdiha section of NH 133, four-laning of 45 km long section of Basukinath-Deoghar section of NH 114 A, KDH-Purnadih Coal Handling Plant and new educational and administrative facility.
Tribal Pride Day
Birsa Munda's birthday is celebrated as Tribal Pride Day. This two-month journey will take the benefits of central government schemes to remote areas of the country through stories, street plays and quizzes. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said, Birsa Munda was not only a freedom fighter but also a social reformer. Prime Minister Modi will launch the Developed India Sankalp Yatra from his own soil. The Prime Minister believes that the country's development journey cannot be completed without the development of tribal society and area. He said that the Yatra will reach all the panchayats and areas of the country.
