Fourth successful test of Agni Prime
Agni-P was successfully test fired by the Indian Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on June 07, 2023 from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. This was the first pre-induction night launch conducted by SFC after three successful development trials of the missile. Various range instrumentation such as radar, telemetry and electro optical tracking systems were deployed at various locations including two down-range vessels at the terminal point to capture flight data covering the entire trajectory of the vehicle.
What is the specialty of the missile?
- The decision to run this missile is taken by India's Strategic Forces Command. Agni prime missile is the new generation missile of Agni series.
- Many targets can be attacked by this missile. It is capable of carrying high-intensity explosive thermobaric or nuclear warheads.
- Agni Prime is a 2 stage missile, it can be fitted with weapons weighing 1500 kg to 3000 kg.
- One or multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV) warheads can be installed on the 34.5 feet long missile.

Agni-Prime is a medium-range ballistic missile being developed by India's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) as a successor to the Agni-I and Agni-II missiles in operational service of the strategic Used to be.
