Asian Games 2023 Women's Javelin Throw Championship
India's Anu Rani won the gold medal in women's javelin throw with a throw of 69.92 meters at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. She became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in javelin throw in the history of Asian Games.
Rani started with a throw of 56.99m in her first attempt and went on to throw 60+ in her next attempt. His throw of 61.28 meters in the second attempt brought him into medal contention, but his throw of 62.92 meters in the fourth attempt proved to be enough for the gold. Rani's first place finish gave India its 15th gold medal.

Anu Rani is an Indian javelin throw athlete and the current national record is in her name. Anu is the first Indian woman to throw the javelin to a distance of more than 60 meters. In the 2019 National Championship, Anu created a new record by throwing 62.34 meters javelin. Anu has broken her own national record four times. She has also reached the finals of the World Championship.

- Anu qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (to be played in 2021). Apart from this, she is also the first Indian female athlete to win a medal in javelin throw in the Commonwealth Games. Anu won bronze at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
- Won gold medal by throwing 58.83 meters javelin in the 2014 National Interstate Championship in Lucknow.
- Won a bronze medal at the Incheon Asian Games 2014 in South Korea with a throw of 59.53 metres.
- Won bronze medal in Asian Championship 2015.
- Broke his own record by throwing 60.1 meters in the National Athletics Championship 2016.
- Rani won the bronze medal at the Asian Athletics Championships held in Bhubaneswar in 2017.
- Silver medal at Asian Athletic Championships 2019 (Doha), qualified for World Athletics Championships.
- Made a record by throwing 62.34 meters in the National Championship 2019.
- Won bronze medal at IIAF Athletics Challenge in Czech Republic.
- Austra became the first female athlete from the country to reach the final of the World Athletic Championship by winning the bronze medal in the Golden Spike competition.
