India's shuttler pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty defeated defending world champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia to win the Indonesia Open men's doubles title in Jakarta. Satwik, ranked sixth in the world, and Chirag won their maiden Super 1000 title with a straight sets 21-17, 21-18 win. With this feat, they became the first doubles pair from India to win the prestigious tournament. It was also their first win over the Malaysian pair in their ninth meeting.
2023 Indonesia Open
The 2023 Indonesia Open was a badminton tournament that took place from 13 to 18 June 2023 at the Istora Gelora Bang Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 2023 Indonesia Open tournament was included in the 2023 BWF World Tour. It was a part of Indonesia Open which was held since 1982 and organized by Badminton Association of Indonesia with the approval of BWF.
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour is divided into six levels. World Tour Finals, four Super 1000s, six Super 750s, seven Super 500s and 11 Super 300s. Another category of tournaments, the BWF Tour Super 100 level, also awards ranking points. Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool are offered at the Super 1000 level.
