Badminton Asia Championship 2023
The championship was held from April 25 to April 30 at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This was the 40th edition of the championship. Indian pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy won the men's doubles title after defeating eighth seeded Malaysian pair of Teo E Yee and Ong Yew Sin in the final of the championship.
They defeated Ong Sin Yew and Teo Ee Yee 16–21, 21–17 and 21–19. It was a big win for India's leading men's doubles pair as they won India's second Badminton Asia Championship title after Dinesh Khanna in 1965.
Badminton Asia Championship
The Badminton Asia Championships (formerly Asian Badminton Championships until 2006) is a tournament organized by the governing body of Badminton Asia to crown the best badminton players in Asia. The tournament is organized by the United Arab Emirates Badminton Federation with the approval of Badminton Asia.
The tournament is graded based on the BWF point system, equivalent to a BWF World Tour Super 1000 event. The tournament began in 1962 and has been held annually since 1991.
