First Indian Village Mana
Mana village in the Uttarakhand Himalayas, earlier known as the last Indian village, will now be known as the 'first Indian village'. The Border Roads Organization (BRO) put up a signboard at the border village of "Mana" in Uttarakhand, declaring it as the "First Indian Village".
The development comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi endorsed Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's statement that "Mana was the first village of the country, and every border village should be the first village." Dhami further said that the border areas of the country are becoming more vibrant under the leadership of PM Modi and to support this objective the "Vibrant Village" program has been launched.
