Bangladesh's ruling Awami League (AL) has named Mohammad Shahabuddin Chappu as the 22nd President of Bangladesh. A gazette was issued by the Chief Election Commissioner on the appointment of the new President of Bangladesh. According to the country's main election commission, 74-year-old Chappu replaced incumbent President Mohammad Abdul Hamid.
