History of National Farmer's Day
National Farmers Day is celebrated in honor of Chaudhary Charan Singh, the 5th Prime Minister of India. Chaudhary Charan Singh was the universal leader of the farmers. He was born on 23 December 1902 in Hapur. During his tenure, he made every possible effort to improve the lives of the farmers and many agricultural bills were passed. National Farmers Day was celebrated on 23 December from the year 2001 for his incomparable contribution to the farmers.
Chaudhary Charan Singh did a lot of work on land reforms. He was a very simple and simple minded person who led a very simple life. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he initiated several policies to improve the lives of Indian farmers.

Several events are organized across the country on National Farmers Day to encourage farmers and celebrate their contribution to the country. Many seminars are organized for the farmers on this day. In which agriculture officers and agricultural scientists tell farmers new ways of farming. In all these seminars, farmers are given detailed information about agriculture insurance schemes and other schemes of the Government of India. Along with this, the government also announces new policies for the benefit of the farmers on this day.
